Sullivan Lauderdale

About Sullivan

Bringing a new but experienced face to Duluth’s goalkeeping roster, Sullivan Lauderdale is a Dallas-born keeper with experience at both the NPSL and collegiate level. Lauderdale played with the Houston Dutch Lions last season, who finished third in the Lone Star conference. During his time with the Dutch Lions, Lauderdale won three MOTM awards and was voted Defensive Player of the Year and All-Time Best Goalkeeper for the club.

Lauderdale also had an eventful college season with Oakland University, where he started 18 of the team’s 19 games. He also recored the second most saves in the Horizon League and second highest saves per game rate in the Horizon League while with Oakland.

Suillivan, otherwise known as Sully, told us he was looking forward to the new adventure. “I am excited to be a part of a team that has had a lot of conference and national success, and I want to be a part of continuing that success into the future. I am excited to come to a city that is known for its hospitality and natural beauty.”

Alberto Ciroi

Duluth’s trusted PK keeper Alberto Ciroi will return for the 2019 season looking to expand on his 2018 success. Ciroi featured in two regular season matches for Duluth, an Open Cup match against the Dakota Fusion, and played in both the Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor playoff matches as a late sub.

Ciroi earned a reputation in 2018 for his penalty saves. He participated in three shootouts for Duluth and stopped five different penalty shots in the process, winning all three matches.

Ciroi brought his excellent form between the sticks for Duluth back to Baker University where he made the Heart of America All-Conference 3rd Team and reached the NAIA National Tournament Quarter Finals. He will be transferring to Coastal Carolina University.

Ciroi is excited to return to the city and club where he achieved so much in 2018 and hopes to continue to make history with Duluth, “I love the city, the fans and the community. Coming back for me means to show the type of person I am. If I believe in something, I won’t give it up no matter what. I truly believe in this club, I see its potential to grow and most importantly, I see the soccer culture spreading quickly and deeply in the area. I know how successful this club will be in the future and I just want to help it to get through this process.”
