6.2.18 | Game #6

Current 2018 Records (W-L-T):
Duluth: 0-0-1; 1-0-3 at home/on the road
Sioux Falls: 1-1-1; 0-2-0 at home/on the road

Following three straight draws, the BlueGreens will travel to Sioux Falls, SD looking for their first win since the 1-7 victory over La Crosse Aris on May 19th. While the BlueGreens have struggled to get past a draw in its last few matches, Sioux Falls have struggled to gain any points, suffering three losses in five games with two on the road and one at home. The Thunder have conceded ten goals in said five matches and currently find themselves second from the bottom on the conference table.

While Duluth have struggled in defensive situations, they’re recent defensive record stands well when compared to the rest of the conference, conceding three goals in their last three games. The most notable work will be looked for in the final third, as Duluth have often held long bouts of possession without scoring and have often been one goal away from three points. The BlueGreens’ two lead goal scorers are currently Dana Kowachek and Ryan Tyrer, who both have three goals in league play. Seven other players tie for second place, each with one goal to their name. Two of Duluth’s last three goals have been the first goals in 2018 for their scorers, with Garga Nyuah scoring against Minneapolis City and Liam Moore scoring against the Dakota Fusion.

Despite recent tough results, Duluth find themselves in third place with Saturday’s game representing another strong chance to solidify that placement and challenge for second. The week following the Sioux Falls game will consist of two home games against Dakota Fusion and Viejos Son Los Trapos, two difficult games that could prove the source of incredibly precious points as the conference begins to tighten up.
