Duluth FC is beyond excited to announce we have had our participation in the 2019 rendition of the U.S. Open Cup confirmed. The U.S. Open Cup provides clubs like Duluth FC with the chance to play amateur and semi-professional sides along with the chance to face professional clubs from the United Soccer League (USL) and Major League Soccer (MLS).
Duluth FC played in two rounds of the U.S. Open Cup last year, the first against the Dakota Fusion, which your BlueGreens won in a PK shootout, and secondly against Saint Louis FC of the USL, which ended in a 2-0 win to the Missouri side. The club looks forward to the new challenges that await and cannot wait to take part in the 106th edition of this historic tournament which dates back to 1914.
2018 had 97 clubs participate in the tournament, Duluth is honored to have been one of those 97 and to return for our second year in the U.S. Open Cup.
