BlueGreens to Take On Two Friendlies Over the Next Month

Intersquad – June 13th, 2018
Duluth’s first friendly will be an intersquad friendly between the wide variety of talented players in the BlueGreens’ roster. The match will be hosted in Ashland, WI at Ponzio Stadium. Ponzio Stadium is one of the great facilities at Northland College, where our Head Coach Joel Person also serves as head coach.

The friendly will be a great chance for different players to showcase their talents and make their case to make the final squad as the all important second half of the season approaches. Duluth will then face VSLT in Saint Paul that weekend on the 16th.

Granite City FC – July 3rd, 2018
Duluth FC is excited to announce that we will be participating in a friendly match with Granite City FC on July 3rd. The match will be held in Hayward, WI, and will be part of a collaboration between both clubs, the local soccer youth clubs, and Hayward United which plays in the Duluth Amateur Soccer League (DASL). Granite City currently play in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) in which they compete with the likes of Green Bay United, the Madison 56ers, and Milwaukee Bavarian SC. As of writing this, Granite City find themselves floating around the middle of their conference table with two wins and two losses.

This will be the first time Duluth has played Granite City, who are based in St. Cloud, and will represent a rare crossover with the UPSL who have a strong presence in the midwest despite having only two clubs in Minnesota. The match will be Duluth FC’s first friendly of the year and will proceed their home league match against Med City on July 6th.
