- Vladik Margolin
- August 24, 2017
Born in Minsk, Belarus, raised in Israel, and now defending Duluth’s back line, Vladik Margolin calls the Northland home these days. He specializes in central defensive roles, preferring to either play center back or as a central defensive midfielder. While he enjoys clean sheets as much as the next guy, he also likes having a hand in attacking play from time to time.
Vladik’s earliest football memory was watching the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final, a game that would become famous for the remarkable comeback Liverpool FC made against AC Milan, having been down 3-0 at the half. He especially remembered the tense penalty kicks which would end up giving Liverpool the win.
Vladik feels his family have and always will be his biggest fans, always pushing him forward with belief and support. His favorite clubs are FC Barcelona and Manchester United, so it should come as no surprise that the likes of Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic find themselves at the top of his list of favorite players.
