Coming in from Warrington, England, Tom Corcoran is a talented midfielder always looking to distribute the ball and help lead the team through tough matches. Above all he considers his role to be providing opportunities for his teammates.
Tom can remember kicking the ball around in the backyard with his father for just about his whole life. His dad’s guidance helped him play competitively growing up, an experience that left him a skilled and more experienced player. His father also brings with him heritage within the game, as he played professionally with Preston North End, a historic club within England currently playing in the Championship, the second division of English football. His father also pursued a career in the police force, which helped develop Tom’s understanding of respect and responsibility.
A lifelong Manchester United supporter, Tom’s first big live match was Manchester United versus Bradford City in 1999, at Old Trafford. Only five years old at the time, Tom was able to watch his club win 4-0, helping cement his love for the club and the game. His idol above all other players is Paul Scholes, who played the same position as Tom and achieved the heights of his career during Tom’s childhood.
