- Ricardo Ramos
Ramos was born and raised in Albufeira, Portugal and was surrounded by football for as long as he can remember. Playing as a winger or forward, Ramos loves to score goals with both feet, focusing on strong shot power to get past whatever stands in his way. While he doesn’t know quite where his relationship with football began, he knows he can find pictures from the age of 2 showing him kicking the ball around. He grew up watching every SL Benfica game with his father.
Ramos’ heroes range from across the globe, though they are almost always attacking talents. The likes of Luis Figo, Pauleta, Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho, Drogba, Ronaldo (O Fenômeno), Zlatan, and Zidane have always shown him the way to greatness. He also loves Mantorras, a retired Angolan player who was Benfica’s number 9 and made Ramos fall in love with the number. The rise of Quaresma, Nani, and Cristiano Ronaldo, a fellow Portuguese footballers, has also inspired Ramos. He says, “Ronaldo showed up and showed me a different interest and style of play, and he has been my idol since then.”
Ramos supports two clubs, Sport Lisboa Benfica, the Portuguese club whose games are plastered across his childhood, and Real Madrid.
