- Adrian Leal
Born and raised in Alicante of Valencian Country in Spain, Adrian brings his talents as a winger-turned-midfielder, looking to use his technical skills to bring Duluth Football Club results.
Adrian can remember kicking around the football with friends all the way back to when he was 4 years old. His first live game was FC Barcelona against Hercules CF, a renowned Spanish club who have floated between the top three tiers of Spanish Football over the years. Hercules were Adrian’s hometown club and the match, a friendly, had been hosted to celebrate their anniversary. Adrian was able to see players like Ludovic Giuly, Deco, and Victor Valdes play not long before they would go on to win major titles.
Adrian’s dad was a major inspiration for him. A big fan of the game himself, he pushed Adrian to pursue his abilities in the game. When it comes to the countless legends from his favorite club, FC Barcelona, he said it as it is, “I always liked Xavi and Iniesta because of the way they play, but Messi is the one.” As a shorter player, at 5’6’’, Adrian was often referred to as “Messi” when he’d play with older players, a namesake he let himself enjoy.
