Duluth will travel to Rochester this weekend to play their fourth to last match of the 2019 regular season. The match up will pit the conference’s two undefeated sides against one another, with Duluth currently holding a 6-2-0 record while Med City have a 5-3-0 record.

The two sides’ first meeting of the season ended in a 1-1 draw in Duluth, but with both needed points against the top sides of the North in order to cement their place in the top two, Saturday’s match is sure to be a high intensity showing.

Duluth are currently top of the table with 20 points in eight games, while Med City have 18 and Minneapolis City have 19.

Duluth currently have several inform talents in the forward and midfield positions, with the likes of Carlyle Junior, James Westfield, and Brooks Rice causing havoc every week. Junior is on 7 goals in all competitions this season, while Westfield has 6 and Rice has 2. In addition, Rice caused the match winning own goal in Sioux Falls two matches prior to this week and has assisted several goals.

Duluth has also had impressive success in the defensive third, earning five clean sheets in eight league matches. Goalkeepers Alberto Ciroi and Sullivan Lauderdale have both impressed between the posts, combining well with a variety of Duluth defenders to earn all three for the BlueGreens. Captain George Proctor has also teamed up well with the likes of Jake Starling and Damia Viader, with Lucas Mostajo and Liam Condone joining the party to create a defensive line able to play several formations.

With the conference title and a playoff run largely in the BlueGreens’ hands, Saturday’s match up against Med City will be a must watch for Duluth supporters and the NPSL as a whole.
