Duluth Seek Third Road Win in Sioux Falls

Duluth FC vs. Sioux Falls Thunder
Sioux Falls, SD
6.8.19 | Game 6

Current 2019 Records (W-L-T):
Duluth: 1-0-2; 2-0-0 at home/on the road
City: 1-3-0; 0-2-0 at home/on the road

Duluth will travel to Sioux Falls this weekend in hopes of securing their third away win of the 2019 season. Following a draw between Med City and Minneapolis City in the previous round of play, a win this weekend presents Duluth’s chance to move even on points with the unbeaten Med City and above Minneapolis City, though the combination of games in hand and the utter unpredictability of the NPSL North conference, the eventual end of the tale will be unknown regardless of the result.

Duluth won both games against Sioux Falls last season, 1-2 on the road and 4-0 at home, and started the 2019 season with a 2-0 win at home against Sioux Falls. With both road matches ending in important wins for Duluth this year, the BlueGreens will certainly hope to continue this success and build on their strong record against the South Dakota club.

Duluth’s lead goal scorer as of now is James Westfield, who has three goals. Carlyle Junior is closest behind with 2 goals between the NPSL and U.S. Open Cup. Alberto Diaz, Ronaldo Fortune, Damia Viader, Brooks Rice, and Lucas Jacobs all have a goal apiece as well, leaving Duluth with 7 goal scorers. With a history of goals against Sioux Falls, Duluth may well see changes in the goal count this weekend.

Saturday’s match will be streamed via MyCujoo and a watch party will be hosted as per usual at Dubh Linn’s. Further information can be found on Duluth FC’s social media accounts.
