6.30.18 | Game #13

Current 2018 Records (W-L-D):

Minneapolis: 5-0-1; 3-0-3 at home/on the road

In what will surely prove to be one of the most key matches of Duluth FC’s 2018 season, the BlueGreens will face Minneapolis City SC in their last away match and second to last match of the season. Having picked up three points in each of their last five games, Duluth find themselves in a positive spot on both the defensive and offensive fronts, along with being second in the north division table. In first sits Minneapolis City, three points ahead of the BlueGreens.

Minneapolis City currently have a positive goal difference of 22, versus Duluth’s 17. Despite this gap, the title is very much in the BlueGreens range as tie breaking in the NPSL is done via head-to-head, meaning the team with the better record against the other in that year comes out on top. With their first match ending in a draw, this weekend’s match will be the difference maker in who ends the season with the division title.

Duluth received two red cards in their previous match, meaning Aidan Hill and Alberto Ciroi won’t be available for selection. Santiago Garcia will be available after serving a single match ban due to accumulating four yellow cards.

With a wide variety of players finding the back of the net over Duluth’s last three matches (in which a total of eleven goals were scored), Duluth will hope to continue their positive and team-focused performances into their last two matches as they look to end their title defending season on a positive note.
