Duluth Look to Earn Third Straight Year in the Playoffs with Final Home Match

Duluth FC vs. La Crosse Aris
Duluth, MN
7.12.19 | Game 12

Current 2019 Records (W-L-T):
Duluth: 2-1-2; 5-1-0 at home/on the road
Aris: 1-4-0; 1-5-0 at home/on the road

Duluth will host La Crosse Aris in the final week of the NPSL North’s regular season this Friday at Duluth East High School. The match will present Duluth with a final chance to qualify for the NPSL playoffs after failing to do so last week in their loss to Minneapolis City.

Duluth beat La Crosse 3-0 in their previous meeting this season and have never not-won in the five meetings between the two sides in the NPSL. Duluth will look for a big home performance to get them across the line and to their third straight playoff run in three years of NPSL play.

Duluth will, however, need a result elsewhere to go their way in order to qualify. Minneapolis City will host Med City on the same day. With Med City ahead of Duluth by one point in the NPSL North table, Duluth will need Minneapolis to either win or draw that game in order for the BlueGreens to qualify for the playoffs. The two cities previously met in a 1-1 draw earlier this summer.

With results elsewhere in mind, Head Coach Joel Person and squad will focus on their three points this Friday, looking to end the season on a positive note regardless of how the game in Minneapolis goes.

Duluth hold a 7-2-2 (WLD) record this season and will look to make it 8-2-2 on Friday. Kick off is at 7pm as per usual. We hope to see you there!
