Duluth Look to Continue Perfect Road Record with Fourth Away Win

Duluth FC vs. Maplebrook TwinStars
Maple Grove, MN
6.19.19 | Game 8

Current 2019 Records (W-L-T):
Duluth: 2-0-2; 3-0-0 at home/on the road
TwinStars: 2-2-0; 1-1-1 at home/on the road

Duluth will travel to Maple Grove this Wednesday to face the TwinStars in their fourth away match of the NPSL season. They will travel seeking to continue a perfect away record in 2019 NPSL play, having beat the Fusion, Minneapolis City, and Sioux Falls on the road. Duluth’s only away loss this year has come in the Open Cup, during a PK shootout with the Des Moines Menace.

Duluth will travel to Maple Grove on the back of a massive 7-0 win over the Dakota Fusion and a draw between Med City and Sioux Falls, which has helped to tighten the space between the three main title contenders in the North. Med City has 18 points with 8 games played, while Duluth has 17 points in 7 games and Minneapolis City has 16 in 7 games.

Duluth has now scored 18 goals this season, in large part due to the goal counts of James Westfield and Carlyle Junior, who have 4 and 5 goals in the league respectively. An additional seven players have scored for Duluth in 2019, repeating a trend from the 2018 season in which a large range of players (16 in total) found the back of the net. This is in comparison to 2017 in which only ten players scored for Duluth in the regular season.

Wednesday’s match will yet again be a major opportunity for Duluth to get a big three points on the road and continue the title and playoff campaign. Keep an eye on our social media accounts for watch party updates!
