Duluth continues its run of home games by taking on the Sioux Falls Thunder, a club who have struggled in ways similar to the BlueGreens’ last opponent (La Crosse Aris) but continue to show the ability to threaten. The BlueGreens away trip to Sioux Falls ended in a 1-2 win to Duluth, a positive result and the blueprint for another home win, though the squad will certainly aim to add a fourth clean sheet to their record.

Duluth’s midweek match against La Crosse Aris featured a large amount of rotation both within the starting eleven and on the bench, meaning that the BlueGreens will approach their weekend match having many of their options rested. One constant work which featured in the midweek was vice-captain Joe Watt, who notched his fourth goal in all competitions this year. Watt has started every game for Duluth FC in the NPSL Regular Season and the U.S. Open Cup and now finds himself tied for second in regular season goals and leading for most matches started.

With the seasoning come to a close, Duluth’s top two hopes will rely on continued consistency on the pitch and some favored results across the league. With the defensive and offensive sides of the squad both appearing to have found their way, the BlueGreens can approach the ending stretch of the seasoning knowing they’re capable of doing their part.

Duluth’s weekend match will also include a special thank you to the original DASL squad which formed the club, keep an eye on our social media platforms for more information.
