With a quick turnaround after this past Saturday’s close loss against Minneapolis City SC, the Bluegreens will be coming back up to Duluth to face off against Joy St. Louis Park. The last matchup which was also the season opener for both teams ended in an absolute massacre of a match with your BlueGreen defeating them soundly 6-0. Since then, they’ve played pretty shakily, only winning two of their last five. The Billy Goats have had some bright spots this season and on their team with Phil Caputo having a couple of muli-goal games. However, that has not stopped the bleeding as they are now sitting in 6th place in the conference with only 6 points which is half of where we currently stand.
Although they have had their struggles this season, Joy Athletic is not a team to underestimate and we are fully aware of how a team struggling can bolster together and put up as strong of an effort as any team in this league. The Bluegreens however, finally know what defeat tastes like, so expect them to come out aggressive and energetic so that they can keep that awful taste out going forwards. We currently sit second in the conference only 4 points behind Med City FC. This will be an excellent opportunity to close the gap and reclaim their spot at the top. We look forward to seeing all the fans out in attendance this Wednesday because it has been a while since our last home bout.
